My First Time Abroad (Amsterdam Travel Recs)

If I were to recommend one thing to anyone when visiting Amsterdam, it would be Corner Store. It is a record bar with a gorgeous soft color tone. The light installation is breathtaking and changes color throughout the night to instill the mood. The menu is filled with Asian-inspired locally sourced seasonal ingredients with a strong focus on vegetables. The drinks pair so well and steal the show. There is a tasting menu, which I would recommend, but if you were to do the à la carte, this is what I would do. As a snack, pickled lotus root was piquant and had a strong texture. For an entrée, I would recommend the halibut, kosho, and fennel dish. The fish is light but the yuzu kosho packs a punch. Wish I could come back here every month to try whatever and keep shazaming every song I hear.

Sick Smell of Success

For cinema lovers or anyone who likes posters in general, this is place is a gem. The walls are filled with what is probably the best movie poster curation I have seen, rivaling NYC’s Posteriati. Make sure to check out the exhibits if you are in there at the right time. I was able to pick up In the Mood for Love poster seen above.

Website
