Supreme Court’s Bruen Ruling is End of Gun Control, Maybe Democracy

It was global news on June 24, 2022 when the six right-wing Justices on the Supreme Court overturned the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling (1973) that made access to abortion a federal right for women. Little noticed was an equally damaging ruling issued the previous day by the Sinister Six. The 6–3 majority opinion in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association (NYSRPA) v. Bruen is the Court’s latest distortion and expansion of the Second Amendment. It offers constitutional protection for the dangerous practice of concealed carry in public and eliminates any consideration of public safety in future federal rulings on gun laws. Left unchecked, Bruen will lead to the eradication of what little gun control America has left — engendering carnage even worse than what we are currently facing — <a href="https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/04/26/what-the-data-says-about-gun-deaths-in-the-u-s/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">more than 48,000</a> guns death in in 2021 according to the CDC.
