New NYC Skyscraper Is Making Headlines For An Unexpected Reason

<p>111 West 57th Street claims to be the skinniest skyscraper ever built. The tower does stand out in the skyline as an extremely narrow building compared to the chunkier buildings of yore. Hong Kong pioneered so-called pencil skyscrapers during its building boom but the concept never really caught on in the United States.</p> <p>111 West 57th Street claims the title because of its impressive height. The slender tower stands at 1,428 feet which makes it the third tallest building in New York City after One World Trade Center (1,776 ft) and the Central Park Tower (1,550 ft).
