To Fall Out of Love with NYC

There’s a popular Canadian trope about Toronto being “The Centre of the Universe.” Part of Toronto’s inferiority complex comes from the fact they are not New York. Toronto has it’s problems but they are not NYC and should be grateful. I used to love New York. I would go there sometimes twice a year, see a show, a museum, hit the restaurants, ride the subway, even have a spa day in Brooklyn. Slowly I became aware that many New Yorkers absolutely see anything outside the Tri-State area as not worth their attention.
