NYC Elections and Stances on Israel
<p>According to Wikipedia, out of all the cities in the world New York City has the largest Jewish population. I went to elementary school where the predominant ethnic group was Jewish, my parents did not run a restaurant, and so I think my relationship with Jewish people had more room for nuance…</p>
<p>I cringed when an ex of mine would make reductive and deprecating jokes about herself being Chinese and Jewish. I cringed when Chinese people comment about getting Jewish restaurant goers on Christmas day.</p>
<p>I cringed when there was a Helen Qiu poster about supporting Israel, as part of the political campaign in attempt to win city council in Chinatown.</p>
