Forgive and Forget

Forgive and forget —once, I thought it was impossible. My belief was to forgive, yes, but never to forget. It seemed like the wise thing to do.

However, as time passed, I came to realize that this perspective was somewhat naive.

How could I forgive

How could I truly forgive if I didn’t fully let go? I discovered that by holding onto past grievances, I was still haunted by the very things I claimed to have forgiven. True forgiveness isn’t about erasing memories; it’s about making peace with the past.

It means acknowledging that those past incidents were painful and deeply hurtful, but it also means being ready to release that pain and everything that surrounds it. It’s about accepting that those who hurt me did something terrible, yet being willing to put it all behind me. True forgiveness is about freeing them from the prison of my mind.
