<p>We find ourselves venturing into the rain-soaked grounds of contemporary mythmaking with the tale of Narcissus, decontextualised for our present day. Mythologies, as the eminent Carl Jung once suggested, serve as the mirrors to our collective unconscious. They reveal, albeit in veiled symbolism, the innate tensions and contradictions that we often fail to articulate. Narcissus, this eternally youthful figure lost in the reverie of his own reflection, provides fertile ground to examine the evolving paradigms of male beauty and identity.</p>
<p>In this adaptation, the once-clear pool where Narcissus glimpsed his ethereal twin is replaced by a muddied, chaotic sports field, shrouded in the obscurity of a rainstorm. The ancient Greeks viewed their gods and myths as epicentres of moral and ethical lessons. So, what happens when we transplant Narcissus into the murky waters of today’s social climate?</p>
