10 Films For When You Feel Lost, Confused or Just Tired

We’ve all been there. Exhausted from a day of doing nothing. Or perhaps from a day of doing something devoid of any purpose or joy. Feeling incapable of climbing out of the pit we’ve dug ourselves into. Feeling like we’ve missed our train or worse- caught the wrong one. Hoping against hope for an epiphany to come, a lightning bolt of clarity to strike. A map and compass to fall from the sky. Some kind of instruction manual to reveal what we should be doing with our lives and how to go about doing it.

Only it never does.

And as much as our rational brains fight to convince us that this is normal and it will pass (which it will), we still end up feeling like failures.

Now, as someone who lives inside this cycle permanently, I consider myself an expert on this specific brand of existentialism. And here’s what I’ve discovered:

We don't feel like failures because we are confused, we feel like failures because we think we are alone in our confusion. We are convinced that everyone else has been bestowed with the gift of clarity, focus and grit. Everyone but us knows the secret to happiness and fulfilment. Everyone else has this whole game figured out.

And while we’re busy victimizing ourselves, we temporarily lose the ability to zoom out and recognize the unique burdens everyone we know is lugging around (and they definitely are, you can take my word for it).
