When Barack Obama was declared president, I was so proud of my country, I could have burst. (What a mess that would have been!) When he was reelected, I was amazed. If the other party had not been determined to block every move he wanted to make, his presidency could have been truly remarkable, in my opinion.
When the next president was elected, I woke up the morning after wishing it had all been a bad dream and the election was still in the future. I could not believe the same country that had elected an intelligent, educated, warm, and caring man four years before could choose the opposite in the next election.
