Mario Kart 8 was originally released on the Wii U back in 2014 to critical acclaim. This was the first Mario Kart game that had a huge graphical upgrade while also adding many new features. Sadly, the console that it was on, the Wii U, failed.
When the Nintendo Switch was released on March 3, 2017, it only had one significant launch title, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Fans wondered what else was on the horizon.
After Nintendo showed off what looked like a new Mario Kart game, it was announced that a revised version of Mario Kart was coming to the Switch on April 28, 2017.
