Growing up and coming of age in a European US Christian community and culture in the 80s and 90s, I learned to see things a certain way. How exactly I came to view the world around me is a long and complex story involving US politics, economics, religion, and family.
I am now a forty-five year old woman, an immigrant to South Korea (going on ten years) with dual citizenship and a mixed family. I am recovering from ten years in a Christian church cult, after growing up in a cult-like homeschool family. I am an artist, a writer, and a teacher. I have always been a curious and inquisitive person, brave enough to try new things, to start over, but also quite naïve and arrogant. Always learning, but also stubbornly holding onto beliefs.
