My traumatic racist experience.

If you have ever wondered why I am so passionate about anti-racism, it is because of living experiences working in the NHS, particularly on non-NHS occasions. I was reflecting on microaggressions I had received over the months and a stranger who works in healthcare commented in writing stating that they find me ‘intimidating’ and tagged the regulatory body and CNO who unfollowed me shortly afterwards without even fact-checking. So much for nursing leadership ey feeding into the racist stereotype and creating a lack of trust from any one of the global majority. I responded by saying ‘Check your bias’. Those who are aware of anti-racism and cultural competence know that calling Black people ‘intimidating’ or ‘aggressive’ is a racist connotation.

Not only did this stranger write to my ex-employer thinking it was my current one the same day but also involved authorities with the white privilege she benefits from utilising the systematic racist institutions. It was not only her but another stranger who was a medical student who lied about me stating they moved away from London because of me.
