Was It a Brawl or a Racist Attack?
<p>On August 5, 2023, a <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/08/us/montgomery-alabama-riverfront-brawl.html" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">Black security guard</a> was <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/08/08/us/montgomery-boat-dock-fight/index.html" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">assaulted </a>by a group of White males and one White female after they were asked to remove their boat from a port at a riverfront in Montgomery, Alabama.</p>
<p>The personal boat blocked a riverboat tour from docking and unloading its passengers.</p>
<p>The incident, captured on multiple cell phone recordings, depicted the boat owner and others in the party becoming angry with the security guard and <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/08/07/teen-hailed-as-black-aquaman-after-swimming-to-dock-workers-aid/" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">aggressively attacking him</a>.</p>
<p>Several people on the boat were seen jumping back on the dock and rushing to punch, kick, and stomp the security officer after he was knocked to the ground.</p>
