Doja Cat Achieves her Maiden UK Number 1 with Paint the Town Red

The hit single “Paint the Town Red” by American artist Doja Cat has completed its ascension to the top spot on the UK singles chart, marking her first number one hit in the region. The track, lifted from Doja Cat’s forthcoming fourth studio album “Scarlet”, clung to the Number One position in its fifth week on the chart.

“Paint the Town Red” had led the midweek chart but was briefly usurped by Olivia Rodrigo’s “Vampire” in the final tracking period. Doja Cat has now accumulated 15 top 40 singles in the UK, including top 10 placings for 2020’s “Say So” and 2021 collaborations “Kiss Me More” with SZA and “You Right” featuring The Weeknd.
