Each year, an area of interest seems to be at the center of attention for museum Web3 innovation. Before 2021, the focus was mostly on accepting crypto donations, which the Hammer Museum did in 2015. 2021 was the NFT boom, and we saw museums tokenizing collections, as the British Museum or the Offizzi did. In 2022, the focus shifted towards on-site live minting, with the LAS Art Foundation collaborating with Ian Cheng for the exhibition “Life After BOB” and Tezos setting up generative art live minting on their booth at ArtBasel. In 2023, new areas hit the spotlight, such as digital souvenirs, as done by the Musée d’Orsay, and blockchain-based art acquisitions,
