SXSW Sydney 2023 learnings

In March, I booked my tickets for the SXSW conference as I was looking for something refreshing after leaving a difficult job. I got a good early bird price, although the pricing was confusing. Eventually, I settled on the Tech and Innovation package.

I was excited when mid October came and I flew up solo to Sydney. This was the largest conference I have ever attended and was held outside the USA for the first time. “DestinationNSW staged a coup to get it here!” said many of the event moderators. The conference covered everything from business, games, technology, innovation, digital and non-digital, film, and music. It was a week-long event with hundreds of presentations or shows per day. I attended approximately five events per day and watched a movie or show on some days. I chose to attend events outside my usual topics of interest, such as Design and Digital.
