<p>Getting everything organised to move here was a lot more complicated than I ever could have imagined. For those who don’t know, I am here as an au pair. After trawling through tens, maybe even hundreds of families I finally found the perfect match for me. That was just the beginning of the process: visa applications, various bits and pieces that needed to be validated, translating important documents, posting certificates and visiting the French consulate multiple times were just a few of the steps involved.</p>

<p>The one great thing about all of this is that it gave me the opportunity to genuinely make the most of my remaining time in Sydney. </p>
