The new Sydney Modern is not about the Art.

<p>The new Sydney Modern building, aka the North Building of the NSW Art Gallery is finally open. Over many lunchtime walks I observed the building grow from a construction site through to the magnificent edifice that it is today. I was able to visit the gallery a few weeks after opening and had some mixed feelings about the new gallery.</p> <p><img alt="" src="https://miro.medium.com/v2/resize:fit:700/1*c58SRX3sisvmCNG-9j1ExQ.png" style="height:467px; width:700px" /></p> <p>The new Sydney Modern</p> <p>The first impression was of the courtyard off Art Gallery Road, which is populated by a trio of pairs of blue characters. The sculptures were striking, perfectly scaled for the space and interesting without being intimidating.
