‘Reaper’ Chapter 8: The Void

<p>The inside of The Void was soft white with a thin haze floating in the air. Strokes of faint pastels hinted at the landscape, but it was still difficult to see. Rae saw a mass on the ground ten yards away.</p> <p><em>&ldquo;Lina!&rdquo;, yelled Rae as they ran towards her.</em></p> <p>They were immediately jerked back and met with the face of Death.</p> <p><em>Rae scowled, &ldquo;You shouldn&rsquo;t be here, Morta.&rdquo;</em></p> <p><em>&ldquo;You&rsquo;re running into an ambush, you fool.&rdquo;</em></p> <p>Rae turned back to Lina, and just beyond her body were several pairs of familiar orange orbs hiding in the haze.
