Ottawa’s Photo Radar Speed Traps

<p>For some time now, I&rsquo;ve been wondering how the City of Ottawa is going to pay for such white elephants as Lansdowne and its dysfunctional light rail transit system. Clearly, the proposed property tax hike of 2.5 percent will do nothing to solve the current $3.5 billion debt.</p> <p>I think I know where the necessary revenue is going to come from. The other week, I received a photo radar speeding ticket for $90. I or my wife was caught doing 54 kph in a 40 kph zone. The accompanying photo confirmed that it was us or, more likely, one of us.</p> <p>I&rsquo;m not opposed to photo radar speed traps but this one seemed a bit ridiculous.
