Mixed Race Activism
<p>As some of you might know, I’ve supported Blasian March in New York City. The founder Rohan Zhou-Lee is mixed race and I can tell you that at some point, we had shared space where I heard stories about feeling alienated by community, especially around how they were racially perceived. Today, I write to acknowledge that I understand the pain of never feeling like enough to belong.</p>
<p>What I don’t think I could ever understand completely because it isn’t my lived experience is how much more dehumanizing this country treats Black people. I can only imagine how much harder it is to resist internalizing the devaluation if we are basically drowning in that narrative.</p>
