Permanent Damage (Joesef, 2023)

It’s a good week to be Glasweigan, with national treasure Joesef finally releasing his much anticipated debut album Permanent Damage. Accompanied by the short film of the same name, directed by Luis Hindman, Joesef tells a story from beginning to end, leaving no stone unturned. As a full body of work, the album draws the listener in, desperate to know more about the characters and the events which have unfolded. The album opens with the title track which is rich in sound, with lush arco strings, creating a cinematic atmosphere. The album follows the universal pain of falling in and out of love, and experiencing the loneliness that often surrounds love in all its forms.
