Undoing the Damage
<p>In our capitalist country, making a profit outweighs every other concern. We set up our laws, our priorities, and the economic system to maximize profits at the expense of everything else. We find ourselves sacrificing our own well being to chase dollars. We prioritize business interests over human needs. This is enshrined in laws and supreme court decisions. These policies are short sighted, often costing us more in the long run.</p>
<p>During the post-war years, the US experienced a suburban expansion. We built whole neighborhoods on previously farmed fields. Each newly constructed house in a subdivision hosted a single family, the homeowners.</p>
