Indigenous People need a permanent voting seat in Congress

Indigenous people need more than a day. They need more than a month. Thank goodness they have those, but it’s not nearly enough for their contributions and the disrespect they have taken. Their land was taken, they were forcefully relocated to reservations during the Trail of Tears, they were forcibly sent to boarding schools to get the Indian out of the Indian, and they were nearly exterminated as a race. America is not America without the forced sacrifices and contributions of Indigenous people. How do we make Indigenous people a priority in a land of partisan divisiveness, whitewashing of history, national debt, and pending international conflict? How do we focus on our Indigenous brothers and sisters every day and month of the year, not just their day or month?
