The Power of Async: Introverts’ Haven in the New Work Paradigm

<p>We invite people to a meeting so their intellect and perspective can be included in problem-solving and decision-making. In practice, many meetings fail to effectively engage key voices.&nbsp;<a href="https://hbr.org/2016/04/run-meetings-that-are-fair-to-introverts-women-and-remote-workers" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">This HBR article</a>&nbsp;summarized: &ldquo;Only 35% said they felt able to make a contribution all the time&hellip; There are three segments of the workforce who are routinely overlooked: introverts, remote workers, and women.&rdquo; However, there is hope in the paradigm of&nbsp;<a href="https://open.spotify.com/episode/5oeKVEOAnnGmSNy0doIQLN?si=zC_rbc9HSfuIzI9-KfLMuA&amp;nd=1" rel="noopener ugc nofollow" target="_blank">distributed work</a>.</p> <p><a href="https://travisbogard.medium.com/asynchronous-meetings-the-key-to-productivity-and-flexibility-in-the-modern-workplace-dc6d1ce8af40" rel="noopener">Asynchronous meetings</a>&nbsp;and asynchronous workflows overall, change some of the meeting dynamics that bias and unconsciously lead to less engagement from these individuals.
