a letter to Taipei

Growing up as an introverted girl who often lacks the courage to start a conversation with people, I prefer writing over talking. Expressing my feelings toward people through words, sentences, and paragraphs is comfortable. It might be in the form of birthday letters, graduation letters, snail mails, or even the “I have a lot of things to talk to you but I don’t think I can say it without being stuttered or shedding tears, so I write it” kind of letter.

Don’t get me wrong; I might talk a lot when I am comfortable with the people and environment around me. A letter is just so special for me because it is eternal. It captures the thought of one’s mind at a particular moment that stays forever. It shows the dedication of someone to deliver their ideas and emotion into writing, selecting the word choice, writing (or typing) it, and sending it to the recipient. Writing letters also portrays how someone is impacted or altered by the relationship they honor.
