Open Letter to William T. Vollmann

I’ve never been famous as a musician or writer, maybe about in the mid 200’s it looked like that might go down to a degree, but then it didn’t. As to my music, the concept of samples of low-fi far right conspiracy theory material played over receptive disco has somehow not caught on commercially- go figure. There’s an audiobook of a short story collection I did called Hollywood Wiretapping floating around that I signed a bad deal on in my twenties with a small company that was mostly an awful punk label. If I had cashed in on the fact my grandfather on my mother’s side, David Mathewson, invented the original prototype of the M14 assault rifle at his company Mathewson Tool, I might have gotten some attention, but my mother was abusive and my father was in denial about this, and I didn’t want to mess with my inheritances, so I didn’t write a novel about that.
