TOLEDO, Ohio — There were plenty of thoughts shared during the forum, held a week ago at the Main Library in downtown Toledo.

However, that forum didn’t mark the end of WGTE’s community conversation about the issue, which isn’t about politics or division. Rather, an examination of whether the playing field is even, particularly when it comes to wealth and race.

One point brought up throughout the forum was the fact that data shows that there is a disproportionate amount of Black people in Lucas County’s jail — compared to Whites — according to the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council.
