The Satirical Voice of Juvenal and it’s Lasting Impact Throughout History in the Media
<p>It is simply impossible to progress in the future without learning from the past. This goes for everything, from art to architecture, music to politics; everything under the sun has been influenced immensely from those before us. Most notably, the portrayal of media. Whether it was novels, films or magazines, these industries were created by undergoing thousands and thousands of years of a continuous process of refinement and subtle critiquing to keep up with the times. But no era was more impactful than Classical Rome, and their development of the satire genre. Roman satirists popularized ideas of satire that are still used today. Satire is the use of techniques, such as sarcasm and irony, to expose and critique people’s actions and vices.
