The New Family Toy

<p>The following story was written in 2000.</p> <p>When I first decided to pursue my writing career seriously enough to take a writing class or two, I had no idea that I would soon be the proud owner of a personal computer.</p> <p>Computers were the future. The very far away future as far as I was concerned. I knew absolutely nothing about them. Nothing in the world was going to convince me that I needed one either. Pen and paper had worked fine for years.
