Spanish conquest of Peru: The annihilation of an entire civilization

<p>This phenomenon, whose name was coined by Alfred Crosby<a href="https://medium.com/lessons-from-history/spanish-conquest-of-peru-the-annihilation-of-an-entire-civilization-52703ee2823f#_ftn2" rel="noopener ugc nofollow">[2]</a>, is considered to be one of the most exploratory historical events and it triggered Europe&rsquo;s shift towards industrialization and capitalism. The threat of the Ottoman Empire and the barriers in the eastern trade routes caused by them motivated the European royalty and nobility for western exploration.</p> <p>This period of exploration contributed to a massive advancement in technology, trade relations and the blending of continents. All of these achievements further influenced the shift towards the more globalized society that we live in today. However, this evolution did not take shape without paying hefty costs.
