Bangkok, Thailand

On our first day in Bangkok, we were met at the Malaysia Hotel by a tour driver. When we purchased our taxi coupon from the airport the previous evening, we were talked into purchasing a full-day tour featuring the Damnern Sa-Duak Floating Market, the Train Market, some Wats and a City Tour. We thought it was a good deal at approximately US$80. We did not realize that was just for the car hire and did not include any entrance fees to the featured sites.

Our first shock came after we drove close to 90 minutes outside of Bangkok to the Floating Market. There, we found there was a further charge of US$140 for the market boat tour. Old cheap me was completely taken aback. After all, this was almost as much as our hotel stay! Anyway, we decided to pay up and take the tour.

Website
