Uncovering the Mysteries of an Ancient Egyptian High-Ranking Priest

<p>Among them is a heartbreaking story from an excavation at the famed Saqqara burial site that revealed the last resting place of Wahtye, a high-ranking priest and official serving under King Neferirkare Kakai during the fifth dynasty in Ancient Egypt.</p>
<p>Wahtye’s burial chamber was a lavish one, filled with unique items, and impressive statues and the complex walls were generously decorated in bright colours and covered in hieroglyphs telling the life story of Wahtye. In the middle of all this glory a team of archaeologists impatiently waited for Wahtye’s mummy to be lifted from one of the four confined shafts dug out on the limestone ground.</p>
