U.S. Court of Appeals Upholds Rejection of Discrimination Claim by Syracuse Police Officer | Jot Beat

The City of Syracuse has expressed its approval of the U.S. Court of Appeals’ decision to reject a discrimination claim brought forward by Syracuse Police Officer Brandon Hanks.

This ruling reaffirms a judgment issued in October 2022 by U.S. District Court Judge Gary Sharpe.

Officer Hanks initiated a lawsuit in August 2021, naming the City of Syracuse, the Syracuse Police Department, former Police Chief Kenton Buckner, and other high-ranking department members as defendants.
