Wisdom can be received from anywhere, as long as we’re willing to look for it.
I remember once looking at the waves of a lake during a tumultuous time in my life, and thinking, “I am like water, oscillating through life’s ups and downs. Right now it’s down, but I will be soon uplifted when the next wave comes.”
In the same way, you can glean wisdom for one subject within the subject of another.
Take, for example, the business lesson I learned from a 2,000 year old Jewish book known as Pirkei Avot, AKA the Chapters/Ethics of the Fathers.
