One of my current learnings is the power of why or???—???in other words???—???how to foster a sense of purpose and alignment in your employees.
I would like to share a specific example with you.
Over many years in Human Resources, I have supported and even designed employee surveys.
Employee surveys are a great tool for additional feedback, if you prepare well and use them wisely. I will not go into details here about what is important in surveys, but want to focus on one specific impression which reoccurs.
People take part in a survey and expect an outcome. They expect a change. When asking for their feedback regarding the latest survey, the majority states the following:
I took the survey because I wanted to give feedback. I wanted something to happen afterwards. Now I am disappointed because I can’t see any improvement.
Ouch. That is not what I want to hear as an HR person.
So, I have observed, I have tried to improve the survey quality, I have tried to organize smooth communication, I have tried so much.
