If someone told you a year ago that center would be a position of major concern for the Canucks without anyone getting injured, you never would have believed them.
Hell, if someone told you that two weeks ago it probably would’ve sounded absurd. How could a team featuring Elias Pettersson, Bo Horvat, and J.T. Miller be lacking down the middle? Horvat and Miller are generally regarded as strong two-way players, the former being the current captain of the team and the latter having freshly inked a contract extension that loudly announces he is here to be the face of the team. Pettersson is generally — and wrongfully — regarded a tier below the others in terms of defensive play, but he’s an excellent playmaker and likely a point-per-game player for the team.
