Dating back to the Romans and ancient Greeks, the study of corpses and performing autopsies have been around for quite some time, a really long time. According to the Incognito Forensic Foundation, the first autopsy was performed around 44 BC. That was before the Egyptians in 3000 BC which paved the way for modern-day mummification and embalming.
