As the United Nations Conference of the Parties (COP28) concluded on December 13 in the oil-rich United Arab Emirates, a diverse mix of participants, from oil-producing countries and energy corporations to policymakers and climate activists, grappled with the aggravations of addressing climate change as disagreements and all-night sessions were a theme of this year’s event.
