If you read my last article called “Hey, Dublin!”, you probably remember that 2 weeks ago I had nowhere to live. Literally. I was one of the hundreds of thousands of international students who came to Ireland to study and struggled to find a safe place to stay. I remember that as soon as I posted that article, I started crying because I was feeling so hopeless. I literally had nowhere to stay and getting those words and feelings out of my chest made me realize how scary that whole situation was. I was so frightened.
As you read above, the news is just starting to highlight the problem that international students have been facing for the last 6 months. The housing crisis in Ireland is a sad but true reality, and it is hitting international students the most. To the point where they can’t find a proper place to stay so, they have no choice but to live on the streets.
