I am proud of my diverse cultural background. I am most proud of being Hispanic and a person of color. As a kid growing up in a small town, >90% of the population was Hispanic. I didn’t notice a culture change/shock until I arrived at the university. It was hard, but I was able to find people that were just like my friends back home. This diversity has shaped my worldview and has given me a unique perspective on the world.
I have always had the desire to help people and solve problems using technology. As a child, I would browse through my grandma’s phone and tablet to understand how they operated and worked. As I grew older, I did want to learn more about it, which is why I decided to pursue a degree in computer science to further my education and understanding in this field. I have continued to learn about new developments in this field and figure out how to solve risky problems in life through technology.
