The Power of Async: Introverts??? Haven in the New Work Paradigm

We invite people to a meeting so their intellect and perspective can be included in problem-solving and decision-making. In practice, many meetings fail to effectively engage key voices. This HBR article summarized: “Only 35% said they felt able to make a contribution all the time… There are three segments of the workforce who are routinely overlooked: introverts, remote workers, and women.” However, there is hope in the paradigm of distributed work.

Asynchronous meetings and asynchronous workflows overall, change some of the meeting dynamics that bias and unconsciously lead to less engagement from these individuals. In my ongoing series of writing with ChatGPT about productivity, I asked it to explain how asynchronous work can benefit introverts.
