You’d Be Amazed What My Mom Kept All These Years

I can’t remember how many Mother’s Days ago I put these stickers on my mom’s windows. At least 6 or 7. I was living in Mexico then, and was only here for a visit.

Some I placed in obvious spots, so she could see them on Mother’s Day. Others were more mischievously situated.

This one was handy since some years she had to play where in the world is Carmen San Diego with my travels.

Over the next few months, she’d called me when she found another one. The conversation would generally last an hour.

But here it is, closing in on a decade later. The stickers, while a little worse for wear, are still there. She jokes she’ll take the windows when she moves.

I’m a nerd, my mom really is my best friend.

Never underestimate how mothers appreciate even the smallest of things.

If you’re one of my hardcore readers, you’re probably waiting for a punchline. I’ve got nothing, she’s a sentimental and incredible woman. Not the foul-mouthed dockworker like you’d expect me to have been raised by.
