<p>Valery Gergiev is a renowned conductor originally from Vladikavkaz, Ossetia, Russia. He is the director of the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg as well as an umpteen number of seasonal music festivals across the world, and has countless recordings to his name alongside countless of the finest orchestras around the world.</p>
<p>This article is but a glimpse into the man through the small, fragmented lens of my own experience and my own observation using my eyes, ears, and common sense. Though I don’t know the man personally, I can tell you what I’ve felt during my short time rehearsing and performing with him.</p>
