No One is Stealing Your Job
<p>This horrendous political trope usually cuts across racial and ethnic lines. Typically, the persons accused are nonwhite and thereby deemed less American. Sometimes this rhetorical device is played towards a third person; one time, an old conservative white lady at an Arizona Trump rally told me that they are going to “build the wall” (evict Latino people from America) so you “boys” (my Black self) can get jobs. I’m not sure why she figured I was not employed with a $2500 camera on my neck, but she definitely tried to play that rhetorical device in my direction.</p>
<p>I want to highlight how and why this type of thinking is complete and utter bullshit.</p>
