Trip Report Corsica GR20 North: Toughest Hiking Trek in Europe?

<p>Never flat. Sometimes dangerous. Always breathtaking. The GR20 is known as one of the most challenging &quot;grand randonn&eacute;es&quot; in Europe. Rugged terrain, steep inclines, and rocky sections make this route one for experienced mountain hikers. Especially the northern section, which I covered for this report in just under a week, is known in about every guidebook as the most technical and challenging part.</p> <p>Five years after our hiking trip to Innsbruck, where we undertook the Stubai hut hike, our group of friends felt the time was ripe for another trip into unspoiled nature together. The GR20 had already been mentioned at the time in Austria, so it seemed an obvious choice to travel to Corsica. Four young people in their thirties with some mountain hiking experience: what could possibly go wrong?
