I have come to appreciate the significance of connecting with individuals who share a similar journey of self-discovery and self-improvement in terms of understanding their own identity. Establishing a personal connection with someone is extremely reassuring, and it brings me peace to know that I’m not navigating this path alone. Consequently, I was eager to conduct an interview with an individual who shares a comparable background, particularly a Black student studying abroad in an unfamiliar environment. This interview is intended to highlight their unique experiences. Embracing diverse perspectives and viewpoints is crucial for cultivating global competence and making informed decisions.
