Surviving Another Night of Terror

That night started out like any other.

We had just arrived in town and immediately went to our hotel to get checked in. Although large and elegant, the decor hadn’t been updated since the late 70s.

Dark red velvet wallpaper with gold accents lined the hallways which were lighted by ornate sconces on the walls. Our room was on the second floor at the end of the hall, near the stairwell.

You could tell the blood-red carpet beneath our feet had at one time been plush and luxurious, but over the years, it had become worn down under the shoes of all who walked here before us.
