A Day in The Life of a Product Manager at MATCHES
<p>Ever wondered what it’s like to be in the team who handles order capture for a brand like MATCHES? Join me for a day in my life as a Product Manager, where we orchestrate the magic that happens behind the scenes of that “Add to Cart” button and beyond.</p>
<p><strong>8.00am</strong></p>
<p>I’ve always been an early bird, so my day tends to begin with a blonde roast latte (<em>shout out to Starbucks London Bridge!</em>), and a quick dive into emails and Slack messages. While the office is quiet, I’ll catch up on any interesting industry news (<em>Vogue Business and Business of Fashion subscriptions are key)</em>, write out my hit list for the day and begin working on anything that requires brain power.</p>
<p><strong>9.30am</strong></p>
<p>With my caffeine boost, it’s time to dive into the day’s tasks. I’m constantly in touch with stakeholders from the Delivery and Operations teams, ensuring our ongoing initiatives stay on course. I’ll also work closely with my Head of Product to ensure she’s updated with anything notable, and that we work through any challenges.</p>
<p>Lately, I’ve been sharing some interesting customer feedback we’ve received for returns, and we’ve spent some time exploring feature ideas. It’s perhaps no secret that the top reasons for returning in our industry might be centred around size and fit, but our analysis has showed us some other interesting insights too! For example, some customers have returned due to product images not showing the colour clear enough, or because the item has now gone on sale! I’m working on a way for our business stakeholders to have access to this valuable data, so they can act upon this feedback.</p>
