What is it like being readily able to speak four languages

I say ‘readily able’ because I did not have to put in much effort. I am not special. I just happen to be bornt in Malaysia, a multiracial country, with Chinese ancestry. My grandparents were also bornt and raised in Malaysia but we are ethnically completely Chinese (unless a future DNA family tree tracing test proves otherwise). It might be confusing, but my roots should be reserved for another post. Most of my Chinese friends (note: with Chinese ancestry, not from China) could speak four or even more too. I consider being able to speak a dialect as a language too, because though they are related to the main language, they are still different enough that not every speaker of the main language could understand it.

Website
